Our former students have danced or are now dancing with Pacific Northwest Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet, Sacramento Ballet, Twyla Tharp Dance Company, national tours of Broadway shows, cruise ships, and in Las Vegas.

4. Over 40 Years of Experience

Tri-Cities Academy of Ballet has been serving the community since the late sixties and has been owned and operated by Debra and Joel Rogo since 1987. Ms. Rogo was the Artistic Director of the Omaha Ballet and is an associate of the International Society of Teachers of Dancing of the Cecchetti Society.

5. "State of the Art" Facility

Our facility features 4 large music rooms and 5 spacious dance studios with comfortable parent viewing with large windows, vaulted ceilings, and color-corrected lighting. Most importantly, each studio has "floating" floors which guard against injury and fatigue. The basket-weave design of our floors is superior to any other floating/raised floor design and is used by professional dance companies worldwide. It provides a consistent cushion of air between the dancer and the sub-floor.

The dance surface is the finest vinyl composite dance floor available, commonly referred to as a marley floor. Vinyl composite floors allow dancers to slide, with a degree of controlled slip, but it is not slippery so there is less risk of falls and injuries. Top quality vinyl composite floors, now standard for the industry, provide a safe dance surface to help prevent injuries.

6. A Well-Defined Curriculum

Our entire faculty follows carefully developed day-by-day lesson plans based on a syllabus derived from the Vaganova and Cecchetti methods. The syllabus gives careful consideration to the anatomical capabilities and limitations of each individual dancer, as correct training is vital to develop a body with superior coordination and flexibility without injury.

The Tri-Cities Academy of Ballet is the home of the Mid-Columbia Ballet and its annual production of the Nutcracker. With a cast of over one hundred fifty, the Nutcracker is a holiday tradition for thousands of Tri-Citians and is one of the largest and most popular performance events in the area.
